Death By Chocolate: The Noblegarden Experience
by Syrana on Apr.30, 2009, under Guides, World of Warcraft
I don’t know about you, but when I think of spring, I think of bunnies laying chocolate eggs. This week has been interesting, to say the least, during the in-game holiday event of Noblegarden. Some people dislike it, some people love it, and some just don’t really care.
This post has a few features included today:
- Why to Love Noblegarden
-Why to Hate Noblegarden
-The Path to Nobledom (a guide)
-Egg Collecting: Camp vs. Hunt

The Dagger (RP)

Aerissa stood motionless as she stared at the dagger. The sunlight made the blue jewel on the hilt gleam. She took a gasping breath, having only now noticed that she had been holding her breath. Slowly she turned her head, her eyes meeting Locke’s.
How… peculiar. You bought that from the tradesman, yes?
Aerissa nodded, looking at the dagger out of the corner of her eye. There was something almost familiar about it. Fixing her gaze upon the blue jewel, she walked towards the target. She leaned down, examining the dagger, but careful not to touch it. She moved from side to side and around the target, looking at it from every angle. Aerissa felt a connection to the dagger, but could not place it.
Let’s hope it’s not the “Enchanted Dagger.” Locke trotted closer, sniffing at the air.
“The…” she turned hastily towards Locke, startling him. “How do you know about that? I thought that was merely a story told amongst the seediest of thieves.” (continue reading…)
Screenshot Sunday: Get Off My Lawn

Last week recap
Last week’s screenshot was, indeed, from above one of the pillars in Sholazar Basin. (I think it was the Skyreach Pillar.) I had gotten pretty far up and it looked interesting when I looked down. Congratulations to Sibyll for getting it right!
Introducting…

Review: Guitar Hero: Metallica
by Sideshow on Apr.26, 2009, under Gaming, Music, Xbox 360

I thought I’d make an appearance today by putting up my review of Guitar Hero: Metallica. It merges two of my favorite things, Metallica and video games. I was a bit skeptical at first. I was not very impressed with the Guitar Hero: World Tour release. They seemed to decide to do everything different from Rock Band, who almost perfected that style of game. The song selection in GH:WT was a bit weak and some songs were really boring to play as a band.
Obviously, the song selection on Metallica is not weak. As said in a few reviews that I’ve read, they really did a good job at converting the song into the video game instrumentation. The songs are fun to play on every instrument and can be extremely challenging, too (I’m looking at you Dyers’ Eve.) All Metallica fans will find something they like from Kill ‘Em All to Death Magnetic.
If you’re a long-time Metallica fan, you will notice the extreme detail that Neversoft went into to bring Metallica to the game. Details like James’ movements while singing or the stage setups and locations. I see something new every time I play.
Like Samodean at Hardcore Casual said in his review, “They’ve changed the advancement system. Now you unlock new venues and songs based upon how many stars you’ve earned. So, if you can’t get past Disposable Heroes, just move on.” It’s a nice touch and it lets you get to the songs you want to play even faster instead of requiring you to finish up every song in order. Even some of the other songs on the disc were fun to play and I’ve found some newer music that is really good. Like lesser known bands to most people such as Kyuss, The Sword, Corrosion of Conformity, and Samhain.
If you’re a Rock Band fan or a Guitar Hero fan or even just a metal fan, I’d definitely recommend this game. It’s fun from novice to expert and you’ll get to interact with some great music from the last 25+ years.
Verdict: BUY
Friday Funnies: The Case of the (n00b) Stalker
by Syrana on Apr.24, 2009, under Entertainment, Humor, World of Warcraft
Before the stalker case evidence is presented to you (Cue: “Whooo are you? Whowho whowho”) I’d like to encourage you to listen to the Epic Dwarven Blogger Podcast #9, if you did not listen to it live on Wednesday night. I had a blast being on the show (despite evil butterflies), and you’ll probably get a laugh out of my floundering. (By the way, the plug at the end about the Child’s Play charity auction… it’s through The Hunting Lodge, not Hunter’s >.<) And that’s ok! Evil warlock, I may be… but laughter is contagious. The easier for me to corrupt you with. *nodnod* That’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it. Of course, if you have not listened to Davlin and Nexultor before, be sure to check out the other podcasts too!
Now, I present to you….
The Case of the (n00b) Stalker
Opening statement by Syrana:
I think…I think I’m being followed. I’m not sure if it is by a fan or how they found me. But, I keep getting these random whispers. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but over the past month, I’ve started screenshotting preserving them for evidence. I hadn’t been certain if they were all from the same person, but they appear to be. They aren’t creepy whispers… just… odd. *looks puzzled* Well, here, let me show you. The evidence should speak for itself. (continue reading…)
TLC Thursday: Evil Be Thy Name
by Syrana on Apr.23, 2009, under World of Warcraft
This week’s The Link Connection will be dedicated to warlocks everywhere. As things have started to calm down after Patch 3.1, there’s some great information to be shared and pondered. (And I know, I’ve slacked on giving my own patchy goodness observations. They are still to come, oh yes, yes they are.)
- Get your deep Affliction build low down at Killing ‘em Slowly.
- Saresa discusses her deep Destruction build at Destructive Reach.
- Take a look at Demonology, Destruction and various combination builds within at Fear.DoT.Win
- Looking for a nice, clean, and sleek new UI? Check out Nibuca’s and the info on the addon’s she uses on Mystic Chicanery.
- You’ve heard warlocks are evil. We get that, but just how evil? Well, time to add up the points from the evil scale presented by Yet Another Warlock Nerf and take a look!
- Elleiras of Fel Fire found a new place to farm souls.

5 Ways to be Ignored
by Syrana on Apr.22, 2009, under World of Warcraft
1 – Ninjavites
Yes, ninjavites, those random group invites that you don’t know who they are coming from or what they are for. This is probably my biggest pet peeve in game. I’m all for helping people out and glad others want to too, but I think many of us have jumped into a group to then be “dumped” after they get what they need and you haven’t gotten what you need.
This one really comes down to politeness… ask me first. I don’t care if it is by /s or /w, just ask me. I consider it rude to not ask me first. If I know what it’s for, I’m much more inclined to help, even if I don’t need whatever it is. About the only ninjavites I accept are from Sideshow and my guildies (basically, I have to know who you are). Now, I don’t automatically ignore someone that sends a ninjavite, but if you send me 3 in a row – /added.
This applies not only to random group invites, but also to random guild invites. I’ve never talked to you, how do you know I want to join your guild? Heck, how do you know I am even looking for one? (continue reading…)

Aerissa tipped her hand in a mock salute at Tomber as he handed her the crate full of her purchases. She briskly trotted back to the Inn, feeling lighter on her feet. Whistling, she bustled in through the door and straight up to her room. She couldn’t wait to get out of her raggedy handmade armor and into the fresh new clothes she had bought. Locke followed obediently and jumped up onto the bed as soon as Aerissa opened the door.
“Going to take a nap already, Locke?” She teased, setting the crate at the foot of the bed.
It’s a well deserved lazy day, I think.
Aerissa nodded. She had no plans to do any chores or hunting today. She just wanted to take a bath and enjoy clean clothes. Well, not just any clean clothes, but new clean clothes. She went down the hall to run a warm bath while Locke drifted off to sleep in the room. (continue reading…)
