Upon creating the first household, I wasn’t thinking much about posting regarding the game, family, or otherwise. So the screenshots I took were few and not posed very well. I’m working on better ingame cinematography though!
So, like a lot of us Sims fans, I had to start out with making myself and Sideshow. I created our likenesses, connected us as spouses, and stuck us in a cheapish house (that came fully furnished, unlike our real house). I also started us as young adults. For one, in real life I think we still fall in the young adult category, but also, I wanted a good amount of time to play….
So much time, in fact, that I moved the slider to “long lifespan.” Needless to say, this kept me quite occupied for the next week.
Let’s meet the family, shall we?
Generation 1: Darcy and Brian Zalewski
Meet Darcy and Brian Zalewski in their starter home.
Ahh, such a newly wed couple, ain’t they? She’s thinking about him as he stands before her, telling her how awesome she is.
They spend some time getting settled into the new house. Brian is a funny, family orientated guy, who also happens to be a computer whiz.
Darcy is intelligent, friendly, funny, and an avid reader.
Not long after moving into their new home, Darcy starts her journalism career while Brian starts his science career. Starting out as a test subject is difficult for him, as there are many accidents that happen in the lab.
Darcy and Brian begin to save some money as they purchase upgrades for their home. Brian, being family orientated, talks more and more about starting their family. Darcy, despite trying to claw her way up the journalism ladder, is excited at this prospect as well.
Due to being young newly weds, it didn’t take long before Brian and Darcy woohoo’d a new addition to the family. Darcy and Brian were quite excited to give birth to a little girl. They named her Aerissa. Aerissa was a delightful baby. She rarely cried!
The days seemed to fly past as Aerissa grew up into a toddler. She quickly learned to walk, talk, and use the potty chair. She also displayed an artistic side as she constantly wished to bang on this toy xylophone. What started out sounding like random pounding soon turned into some short, yet beautifully melodic rhythms.
After Darcy was certain she could trust leaving young Aerissa home with a babysitter, she returned to work at the bottom of the barrel. She worked hard to make connections and soon her boss began to recognize her efforts. Besides hitting the streets for interviews, Darcy also wrote in her spare time at home, further honing her skills while earning some extra cash.
To be continued next Sims Saturday!
