Friday Funnies: The Elusive Syrana Hamster
by Syrana on Feb.05, 2010, under Entertainment, Humor
So… the other night I was perusing keyword searches that reach this here blog. Some make sense, some are weird and make me wonder why they woulda looked through 50+ pages before finding us, and some…. some are just amusing.
One of these amusing search terms was “syrana hampster.” Of course, I shared this on Twitter.
And, you know what, I think we have found it!
Or… more accurately… Sunshinecelery found it!
It’s quite likely this person was trying to find Syrian hamsters.
Or… maybe… there really is an evil Syrana hamster? You be the judge!
Syrana: So what do you want to do tonight, Hamster?
Syrana Hamster: Same thing we do every night, Syrana – try to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
Disclaimer: No hamsters were harmed during the making of this post. —- Image Source: Curiousanimals.net (Thanks again for the find, Cel!)Friday Funnies: I Like Cake

by Syrana on Jan.18, 2010, under Entertainment, General, Humor
When I was a wee lass, I asked a lot of questions. While I was generally always considered a “bright kid,” most young children have those moments.
When I turned six, my birthday was much like today. It fell on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
I remember waking up and it being almost Christmas-like… I knew there would be presents. My parents told me my presents were hidden throughout the house; one for each year I was. (Ooh sneaky, learning and practicing can be fun!)
I also remember looking at the wall calendar that day. Being ever so astute, I noticed that there was someone else’s name printed on the calendar on my birthday.
So, I asked my mother: “There is a king who’s 6 today, too?”
Friday Funnies: The Best Of 2009 Keyword Searches
by Syrana on Jan.08, 2010, under Gaming, Humor, World of Warcraft
Amazingly there were over 1800 keyword searches that reached us here at S&S. Those 1800+ words/phrases brought around 3000 people here. But just what were they looking for?
Well, here is a look at the more amusing ones. The practical ones are no fun and made sense.
In no particular order….
Friday Funnies: Down to None
by Sideshow on Jan.01, 2010, under Humor
It happens to all of us. Those horrendous fowarded emails from your parents, your grandmother, your religious aunt, or even from that person you emailed once and likes to send things to everyone in their “contacts” list. They usually induce guilt (by telling you that someone will die if you don’t send it to 10 friends) or they play on your curiosity (you’ll get 5 cents for every person that you forward this to.)
Well, it’s your lucky day. I have the perfect forward that you can send back to these people. It’s possible that some of them may even believe it, who knows?

TLC Thursday: Links, Links, Everywhere Links
by Syrana on Nov.05, 2009, under Entertainment, General, Humor, World of Warcraft
Today’s TLC Thursday is brought to you by some random starred items in my Google Reader… again.
This first link is a non-WoW blog, but I found this post amusing about the overkill of trendy idioms over at DelSquacho. Scratch that, this isn’t a blog link, it’s a blonk.
In this day and age, often do you actually talk on the phone anymore. Have you ever thought of what a phone conversation might be like if you had to call a guildmate only armed with their game name? Fulguralis shares a humorous tale of having to do such a thing.
I’d like to welcome Mortigan the Lock to Syrana’s Warlockery Cohort. If you haven’t checked his blog out yet, I’d suggest starting with 3 of my favorite posts thus far: How to Raid Anything, A Letter of Resignation to the Sons of Hodir (which reminded me of Syrana’s break up letter to Archavon), and How to Negotiate With the Other Faction.
The lovely Tami (some may remember her as the Egotistical Priest) has a couple good posts regarding how comments are like a handshake and how to encourage comments on your blog.
Also, this week I received an email from a reader letting me know they started their own blog. This was very cool. I love hearing from readers! (Don’t be shy!) So I want to give a warm welcome to Nanuki to the blogosphere. And be sure to check out these adorable drawings!
Is This Thing On?
by Syrana on Oct.20, 2009, under Entertainment, General, Humor
Random post is random.
See, I was planning to put together my review of Sunday’s concert (Mastodon and Dethklok \m/) for Wednesday’s post but…
You see I didn’t take any pictures. And… The Rave (the venue) hasn’t posted theirs up yet.
So, it’s on delay.
Sure, I have like over 30 drafts/ideas I could choose from… but I’m trying not to miss the opportunity for some in-game RP this evening. So, post time is limited.
So this is what you are getting. (Hey, all my posts can’t be winners.)
You may be wondering about the above comic. Well, while I was trying to determine what to try to write up now that I have no pictures for my concert review… I became trapped! I was blocked by the internet.
It broked. Or at least Twitter did.
It was weird. I could see SOME incoming tweets and Sideshow could tweet, but I could not. I couldn’t from TweetDeck or the website or my phone.
It was like trying to scream in a dream, but no one could hear me. And especially not fair when Sideshow knew I couldn’t tweet and blamed me for breaking the internet because all his WoW servers were rejecting him.
For the helluvit, I googled “broken internet image” and found the above comic. I LOL’ed and thought I’d share it with you.
… oh look! I can tweet again!
Friday Funnies: Disc Priests, Do They Heal Or Not?
by Syrana on Sep.25, 2009, under Humor, Screenshots, World of Warcraft
While I was on my baby priest (which can I even really call her a disc priest at such a low level?) I got a random whisper asking me about my spec…. enjoy.
…. yes, he believed me when I said I wasn’t a healer.
